Since its official UCI status in 2008 the Tour du Rwanda has seen a lot of winners. Rymax Lubricants congratulates the overall winner: Natnael Tesfazion from Eritrea, but also all the winners in the different categories and of course the organization FERWACY for yet another perfectly organized and internationally complemented edition of the Tour du Rwanda 2020.

After 8 stages through the beautiful country of a thousand hills in which the riders had to face rain, mountains, sunshine, wind, and almost a thousand kilometers, we now know who came out on top. 20-year old Eritrean Natnael Tesfazion is the 2020 Tour du Rwanda champion following the climax of the eight-stage annual event on Sunday the 8th of March in Kigali. The young rider becomes the third Eritrean to win Tour du Rwanda after Daniel Teklehaimanot in 2010 and Merhawi Kudus in 2019.

Rymax’ partner in Rwanda, Société Pétrolière LTD (SP) performed as category sponsor in the sprint category. All the 14 sprint points in the Tour du Rwanda were branded by Rymax and SP and the rider with the most points in this sub competition got put on the important sprint jersey after each stage. After the final stage, Yermane Dawit, also from Eritrea got to take the sprint jersey home as the overall winner in the sprint category.

The organization looks back at another very successful edition of one of the biggest cycling events on the African continent. As a member of the Club des Supporters and SP being official sponsor of this UCI Africa Tour level 2.1 competition, Rymax Lubricants looks confident into the future of this 4-year partnership.
