At Gatebil everyone can drive their own street- or racing car on the best race tracks in Scandinavia. For people who have built their own car, or who compete in one of Europe’s biggest drift competitions on a professional level, Rymax supports everyone who challenges’ him or herself.

Drifting is a driving technique where the driver intentionally oversteers, with loss of traction in only the rear wheels, while maintaining control and driving the car through the entirety of a corner. The technique causes the rear slip angle to exceed the front slip angle to such an extent that often the front wheels are pointing in the opposite direction to the turn.

As a motoring discipline, drifting competitions were first popularized in 1970’s. We now see competitions like Formula D (Drift) in the USA and in Asia and the World Drift GP. Drifting competitions are held worldwide and are judged according to the speed, angle, showmanship and line taken through a corner or set of corners.

The sport of drifting is extremely challenging to driver and machine. The perfect place for Rymax to test our products. For this, we have partnered up with 2015 Formula Drift World Champion and most winning driver Fredric Aasbø, who is a Rymax Ambassador. He and his team have to really push themselves the most, take risks and keep improving to stay on top, and for this they require the best products available. In this case: Rymax Apollo R 10W/60 engine oil and other products from the top performance Apollo line like the gear oil and differential oils to withstand the extreme pressures of a 1.000+ bhp driftcar.

At the five Gatebil events, Rymax, Fredric Aasbø and thousands of petrolheads meet up to share the passion for burning rubber and roaring engines. The Gatebil events take place from May to September, returning every summer to the best tracks of Norway and Sweden, such as Rudskogen and Mantorp Park. Since 2019 Rymax Lubricants is official sponsors of the event and has signed a partnership until 2021. It’s a place where homemade drift cars meet professional racers. Where the Scandinavian DIY winter-projects are put to the test on long summer days, projectcars with more than 750 bhp are welcome, alongside with beginners that set their first steps in the world of drifting. It is the perfect place to improve yourself by challenging yourself. Exactly what Rymax does with it’s products.
